If you read my “An Ode to Magazines...” Blog Post, you know my love for them. Take that post and insert “Award Shows” for “Magazines.”
I love it all. The hair, the makeup, the dresses, the fashion moments, the Red Carpet interviews, people's hard work being recognized, the presenters, the music playing when the acceptance speeches go too long, the hosts. If possible, I camp out on the couch as soon as the Red Carpet coverage starts. I LAVVVVE.
So…if you will indulge with me…below is a list of the Award Shows I’ll be tuning into this year and how and where to watch, the best celebrities to follow on Instagram leading up to the awards, and the best places to recap the shows the day after they air.
ON MOBILE, CLICK ON A THUMBNAIL BELOW AND THEN CLICK THE CIRCLE IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER OF YOUR SCREEN TO SHOW DETAILS :)
Some of the shows are difficult to stream due to contracts and licensing and typically have to be watched on live television. Google "How to Stream _____ Awards 2018" closer to the time of the event to check streaming availability. Unfortunately the first show, the Golden Globes, cannot be streamed due to its contract with the Foreign Press, so try to catch it live on television.

Who to Follow
Authentic Social Media Posts:
Kristen Bell. Amazing. Instagram stories the process of getting ready, including the unnatural taping of certain body parts and makeup-less faces before being glammed. What could be better?
Glam Social Media Posts:
Reese Witherspoon. The slayer of all awards shows. So glam always, and stories on both Instagram and Snapchat her glam process and outfit details. Fave part: her “makeup whisperer” who literally whispers when spoken to on the stories. Hilarious.
Rachel Zoe. The one behind the fabulous wardrobe moments of so many of the glamorous, i.e. Kate Hudson, Molly Sims, Jennifer Garner. Watch her Instagram (both personal and business account) to stay up to date on those she’s styling for the shows and details behind their fashion moments.
Best Places to Recap the Shows the Next Day
My #1 has always been Fashion Police on E!, however, without the late Joan Rivers, it just wasn’t the same, and has since been cancelled (effective November 2017). Since then, I've gone elsewhere for my recaps:
- Who What Wear, Instagram and Website.
- US Weekly’s Instagram and Website
- Rachel Zoe’s personal and business Instagram
Look out for a post on How to "Host a Dope Oscar’s Party" coming in February.
