5 Road Tested + Moved Loved Items in my Closet

The Friday 5.png

This week, we're talking 5 of my "road tested" and most loved items in my closet. I include the road tested component, because they have in fact been road tested over many moons and proved their awesomeness.

I also have a page on Hems + Heard for Road Tested + Most Loved items that ranges beyond items in my closet to accessories, household, and beauty items, that I periodically update with shoppable items, because there's few things I lave more than FAVE items. So I love to share them.

My favorite part of most of these below? The REVIEWS! If you check out the sites, the range of 5 star reviews is anywhere from 2k to 3.8k. Ahhhmazing.

New to the Friday Five and wondering what's up? Check out Weeks 1 - 4, where we talked fave Bloggers, Designers, Fictional Fashion Icons, and Drugstore Beauty Products.

So, here we go! Friday Five, Week 5...

I have blown through 2 pairs of these - which is not a small feat, because they are great quality booties. I bought my first pair in the 2012-2013 range, when I first discovered the @TargetDoesItAgain girls on Instagram. I bought them in the putty color and wore them every single day of student teaching the spring of 2013. Which, shameless plug, read this old blog post about the fashion "challenge" I put myself through to get through student teaching that spring. Why do I love these so much? I am a boot girl in general, but neutral booties like this offer a great alternative to flats and/or sandals. They are just neutral enough, so you can swap them out for other easy options. I also *love* that they cut just below the ankle, aka no cutting off of your leg, creating a slimmer line. Worth the small investment. P.S. They are 25% off at Nordstrom right now!

I've posted about these several times on my Instagram, but guysssss...if you love high quality, TIGHT leggings, but can't afford ye ole LuLu, or if you can, TRY THESE. I love both the high waist and regular waist options. I've tried and enjoyed other options, i.e. compression leggings or workout tops, but the Live-In option is the one that keeps me coming back. I've only heard good things from other people who have bought them as well. I have probably 6 pairs in my dresser right now. When you find something you like, stick with it.

LL Bean Wicked Good Slippers

These live up to their hilarious title, because they are WICKED. GOOD. I'm also on my second pair of these. My original pair honestly could've kept going, but I was moving from the ranch where I had been for several years and they just were extra nasty, and I wanted a fresh pair for "city" life. These are like sticking your feet into a pool of happiness. Only con, no outdoor sole, however, it hasn't stopped me. And I've tried having a second pair of slippers that do have outdoor soles, like Ugg ones - y'all, I like can't even switch because I love my L.L. Beans so much. They've gone up in price since I've bought my second pair, but I'm going strong in year 3 with these. Pro Tip: Get on the L.L. Bean email list, and get their periodical discount codes...snag them then! But I truly feel they are worth their full price point. L.L. Bean has Free Shipping over $50 right now!

Project Social T Textured-Knit V-Neck

This Project Social T is honestly one that I picked out randomly at Urban Outfitters several years ago. I have it in both oatmeal and grey. I support Project Social T's products because they are so well made, and I love their mission to elevate the basics. Why this tee? It is light, airy, true-to-size loose fitting, and seems like it would be sheer, but somehow, isn't (I cannot speak for the white). Give it a shot.

Whoops! Definitely had mixed feelings about putting this one in the Five, but since my subscribers are 100% women, and probably close to 100% of anyone else visiting this page is as well, I deemed it okay. These undies, well, THEY ARE ALL I OWN. You're probably thinking *wow* MR those are pricey. You are correct. But they last for-ev-er. FOR-EV-ER. Pro Tip: Follow the instructions. Wash and lay to dry - don't put them in the dryer! Wash on delicate and lay flat or hang to dry. They will be around *forever.* THEY DON'T SHOW THROUGH CLOTHES. THEY ARE ONE SIZE FITS MOST. THEY COME IN THE MOST FANTASTIC COLORS. THEY ARE LIGHT TO PACK. THEY TAKE UP LITTLE DRAWER SPACE. And have I mentioned the cuteness? I stick to the low-rise classic fit, though they have tons of variety.

So...what do you think? Do you love any of these items?

I would love any feedback y'all have!
