I love cards. I love buying cards, mailing cards, my address stamper, and my unintentional but extensive stamp collection. I wrote a Valentine's Day post last year on my love for cards. I curated the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last year for WEEKS on the Friday Five and what single item did I buy? An Address Book!

As I was thinking about Valentine’s Day this year and planning my day-after discount candy purchasing, I got to thinking about ways to use some of those beautiful cards that often get tossed in a catch-all basket or recycling bin soon after their arrival or once the day ends.

1. W A L L P R I N T S. I love nothing more than cruising the card section in a local store. If you live in Fort Collins, CO or are ever passing through, check out White Balcony downtown; they have T O N S of inventory, all so cute, including a huge card selection. When I was in Nashville recently, my friend took me to White’s Mercantile, a fabulous home store stacked with beautiful cards. So look around! They can truly be works of art. We had a framed card in our den when we were living in Fort Collins that read 'Greetings from Fort Collins’ because I’m a sucker for “local” art work. Nicer cards can be pricey (Often times, the ones I actually mail are Trader Joe's), so if I purchase them, I gift or use it for something special!

2. G I F T T A G S. Have you ever gotten a card you loved, but didn't really know what else to do with it and knew it would end up in a pile or drawer somewhere? Cut out the cuteness, grab a hole puncher, and stick it on your next gift! Boom. Quick and easy repurposing.

3. D I S P L A Y T H E M. Sure, most of us display our Christmas cards, but have you ever displayed simply a card? I remember doing it with several beautiful cards we received for our wedding. It's fun and can add a little happy to a kitchen or entry way for as long or short as you like!
